This week Direct Access has been featured on BBC News. At a time when the COVID19 infection rate is rapidly increasing and more places face lockdown it is nice to be able to share a positive story.
The pandemic has thrown up huge challenges and we have had to innovate very quickly in order to retain our staff and come out of this even stronger. Direct Access responded to the pandemic by sourcing and supplying PPE creating employment opportunities for disabled people from sales to packing and delivery. In the past few weeks we have secured long term contracts across Wales and Northern Ireland along with parts of England and Scotland for the next 4 to 5 years.
Direct Access wants to increase the number of disabled people we take on to help contribute to the fight against COVID. The more PPE we can supply the more we can achieve! We’ve now relocated to much larger premises and are now looking to recruit a further 3-5 disabled people this month.
Here is a clip from the lunchtime version shown on BBC Wales Today at lunchtime.
